Dreams

Many students at our school have a lot of different interests. Some interests are even so special that children start to dream about success. Boys and girls spend a lot of free time practising and trying hard to make these interests and “dreams” come true…

When I was just a little boy I always wanted to play in a band and be famous and I hoped that someday these dreams will come true. Guitar is the best thing that has ever happened to me. =)

That is still my dream. However, I found out that you have to work harder to make this dream a reality.

What is your dream?

HOSPITAL OLYMPIC GAMES

OLYMPIC GAMES IN CELJE! It may sound strange but it's true. On Thursday 22nd of May there was a big moment for many children – 12th Olympic games. The event started at about 13.00 in Celje hospital. Namely every year there are hospital Olympic games where sick and hurt children, compete in different games.
It was very interesting - I can tell, because I was there. Not because I was sick, but because I was there with our school choir.

The games were opened by a very famous guest – gymnast Mitja Petkovšek. Our choir sang an Olympic anthem and then the competition started. Every child tried to get the best score.

Mitja wasn’t the only guest. I believe you all know the Slovenian sport reporter Peter Kavčič. He did some interesting interviews and showed us how the reporting looks like.

The leader of this event was the Mc’Donalds clown. He was amazing. He showed us some great tricks. At the end we sang an Olympic anthem again.

Every child was a winner and got a gold medal. It made children very happy. When the 12th Olympic games were over, children returned to their rooms. Intention of games was achieved - to make a boring day in hospital interesting and fun. It should happen more often.

"Mentime"?!

We all know that on 7th June European football cup starts. The host countries will be Austria and Switzerland. They are preparing for this very hard. In the biggest cities everything is ready for European football cup. But not just cities, policemen are also ready for some violent football fans. They said that they have been most afraid of Balkan fans. They are one of the most violent football fans in the world.
A lot of cards have been sold, some legal and some of them illegal. But that is not so important for us. The lucky 16 countries who made it in are: France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Croatia, Austria, Switzerland, Russia, Netherlands, Poland, Greece, Sweden, Turkey, Czech, Romania.
The big champions are 100 per cent Spain, France, Italy and Portugal. And of course, football is a very popular sport. So there will be some big stars. One of the biggest stars in European football is Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal. Because of him and some other good Portuguese players their team has a big chance to win the cup. But there won’t be just important football players but matches will be visited by some important politicians, actors and singers. However, I still think France is going to win. They have a lot of good players. Some of them play in the most successful clubs in the world. It’s a pity that England has not made it to the competition. Croatia defeated them in qualifications.
I want to know who is going to win the cup in your opinion.

The Exams

In May 2008 we, the 9th graders, had special exams. We still call them »eksterci«.
Slovene and Maths are constant subjects each year, but the 3rd subject is random and it was Physics again at our school.
First we wrote Slovene test, and in my opinion it was the most difficult. There were two texts and various questions about the texts. One of the texts was a very hard to understand poem, and that is why it was so difficult for me.
Next we wrote Physics. It sounds surprising, but it wasn’t so difficult as Slovene for me. We had many formulas written on a help paper so it was much easier.
Finally came Maths. For some this is the most difficult subject, but I think the Math exams weren’t so hard.
In the past these exams counted for points for High school. But a lot has changed these days, and they no longer have such an important value. They only count if two students have the same amount of points and the school can only accept one. But, I think that despite the reduced value it is important we do good at these exams.
What do you think about these exams?
What was your third subject?
At which subject did you do the best?

"Lords" of the dance

We have learnt for many hours many different dances to show our parents, some friends... Often we couldn't wait for the lesson to be over because it was really hard. 13 couples are going to dance ( two boys are from the 8.class - thanks very much!).
At the prom we will not only dance but we'll also show what we have learnt in these eight years - playing some instruments, folklore, singing,...
Prom will be on Thursday, 12. 6. 2008 in OŠ Dramlje at six o`clock. After that when teachers go "to sleep" we will have a great time - we will be alone...
What else can I say? Everybody is feverishly looking for clothes because we all want to be pretty (which we already are...) but for this festive opportunity when saying goodbye to primary school , we must be something special. This event will be in our memory of beautiful school years.

Our final trip!

Adrenaline park in Bohinj is built near the hostel under Vogel, next to Bohinjsko lake. For us, adrenaline park in Bohinj introduces polygon at the height of 8 to 14 meters, made of different tasks, which are possible to conquer individually or in a group.

Under supervision of a professionally trained instructor, you can have a chance to experience new and unusual situations.

Besides individual guests, the adrenaline park is intended for school groups, sport groups…,

Adrenaline park in intended mostly for adults. Children must be at least 11 years old and they have to be at least 150cm tall.

Execution of different tasks and defeating of barriers 8meters above the ground presents us with a new way of fun. Besides fun, the adrenaline park has a very good effect on coordination.

After you complete your tasks, you are supposed to be more self-confident, because you will defeat you internal fear of heights.

Our class is going there on our final trip. We all are looking forward to that. If somebody is afraid of heights he or she will probably defeat that fear there.

We are going there on the 10th of June. That is soon I know. I hope we will have a great time at this new experience for us all.

Waaa, I can't wait!!!

Holly Confirmation in Dramlje

On Sunday, 25 May, we received the sacrament of holy confirmation. The weather was beautiful. 43 children and 4 adults got this sacrament. Three priests and bishop Anton Stres were present. Already on Friday, bishop came to Dramlje in order to check our knowledge concerning feasts, sacraments and the history of the Roman-catholic church. The questions were very difficult. Bishop had never asked such difficult questions before. At Sunday school we were preparing ourselves for eight years for this day. We were learning prayers and the history of religion.

On Sunday, I woke up early in the morning and went to the hairdresser. My brother came from Ljubljana. He is my godfather, and we ate lunch together. After lunch my brother`s girlfriend made me up. Before we went to church my brother gave me a gift. First I read the card. Then I looked at a piece of paper. I could not believe, that it was true. I was very happy. I got a language course on Malta for two weeks. This was one of the most beautiful moments of my life. I was speechless. Then we went to the church. We gathered at the parish house. At 3 p.m. we entered the church together. The mass was very, very long. Then people were taking pictures and eventually we went to my cousin Grega`s house (just my family and my relatives), where we continued our celebration. I got many gifts. We had a great time, except for the time when Grega threw a ball at my nose (non-intentionally) and I started bleeding. I went to sleep at 2 a.m. On Monday I woke up at 11 a.m. and went to Grega`s house, where my mum was helping to clean the dishes from the party.
I will never forget 25 May 2008!
