EUROPEAN VILLAGE

On Friday, 9th May we went to the city center, where we visited the European village. The performance has taken place each year since Slovenia entered EU.

Many schools participated by introducing different countries; our school had to introduce Slovenia. My schoolmates wore typical clothes of different Slovenian regions, There was of course” potica” to taste on our stall and our school choir sang two folk songs. Other schools presented other European countries and we could learn a lot about different cultures. We tasted delicious food and learnt many new expressions. I interviewed some of my classmates and almost all of them think that European day was very successful, They learned a lot about new worlds and really felt the atmosphere of the European countries.

It was a beautiful day, the event itself very successful and full of energtic young people who were active all the time.

  • What is your opinion about the Day of Europe
  • Which country in Europe attracts you most and why?
  • Which stall do you think was the best and why?
  • My classmates had to interview some people in the European village about their experience with other cultures and languages. What do you think about cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and the importance of languages

Well as i wasn't there i can't tell about other students experience or which stall was the best, but i can tell which country attracts me the most and why.
I would choose Great Britain.
I would understand everyone there and they really have delicious food, but i would also visit GB cause the accent they have is very nice and i would like to learn how to speak in it.

That is all from me for today.
See you all later.

I didn't go to thit event, because i had a competition that day.
Switzerland is the country that attracts me most. I think it's because of the chocolate:D

It was fun, all was organized well and people were nice. The heet bothered me, but we all were in a good mood. The place was a little messed up, i liked the former place better. Old and young people were there, that's really special.
